An artistic experiment: the soft gray tones in today's comic were made using a charcoal pencil, with ink linework limited to the mirror's frame. I can get away with things like that since this isn't a newsprint cartoon; the equivalent concern for a web-comic is kilobyte size. Using soft grays doesn't make it too much more expensive in kilobytes, I think I may be illustrating Theri There this way more often. This is the first time I've used a font instead of hand-lettering my comics... I was afraid of smudging the charcoal. I could've used a more comic-like font such as one from Blambot.com. I referred to a Dover pictorial book of frames and ornaments of the renaissance to get the proper look; however, this particular frame is an original design of my own.
Discuss today's comic.
